Marintec China Update | BOTIX Presents Maritime Autonomy Innovations at CCS Technology Seminar
Marintec China 2025, widely recognized as a leading barometer of the global maritime industry, opened in Shanghai on December 2. As the digital and intelligent transformation of global shipping accelerates, intelligent vessels and maritime autonomy were among the major topics discussed at the exhibition.
Against this backdrop, China Classification Society (CCS) hosted the Seminar on Ship Digital and Intelligent Technology under the theme “Intelligence Drives Shipping, Digital Innovation Shapes the Future.” Representatives from shipping companies, shipbuilders, research institutions, universities, and technology companies discussed autonomous navigation, digital maritime ecosystems, and other key technical topics.
As a representative company in China’s maritime autonomy sector, BOTIX was invited to attend and deliver a presentation on its latest technology development and practical implementation.

During the presentation, Dr. Liu Wen, Vice President of BOTIX, introduced the company’s system design based on a connected vessel-shore-cloud architecture. He highlighted the functions and applications of BOTIX’s autonomous navigation system for inland vessels and navigation assistance system for seagoing vessels.
The autonomous navigation system for inland vessels has received Approval in Principle from CCS. It is designed to support the requirements for end-to-end autonomous navigation (Nn) and autonomous vessel operation (A1) under the CCS Rules for Intelligent Ships.
The system has completed multiple rounds of testing in complex operating scenarios aboard Auto Spring on the Meihu route in Huzhou, demonstrating its reliability and stability under real-world conditions.
Regarding the navigation assistance system for seagoing vessels, Dr. Liu presented key functions including all-weather environmental perception through multi-sensor fusion, enhanced target detection and recognition in low-visibility conditions, collision-risk alerts, and assisted lookout in support of regulatory compliance. These capabilities are designed to improve navigational safety and operational efficiency.
Covering technology development, operational applications, and full-scale vessel validation, the presentation prompted in-depth discussions among the attending experts and researchers.
Through this presentation, BOTIX demonstrated an integrated capability extending from system architecture and technology development to real-world validation. It also reinforced the company’s long-term commitment and strategic focus in maritime autonomy.
Looking ahead, BOTIX will continue to collaborate closely with CCS and other leading industry organizations. The company will deepen cooperation in standards development, regulatory guidance, technology validation, and operational demonstrations, accelerating the transition of maritime autonomy from R&D to scalable deployment and supporting a safer, more intelligent, and more sustainable shipping industry.
