BOTIX Shares International Standards Development Experience at SAC/TC 130 Annual Meeting

The 2025 Annual Meeting of the National Technical Committee on Inland Vessels and Waterborne Transport Standardization (SAC/TC 130) was held at the Guangzhou Ocean Hotel on November 24, 2025.

The meeting brought together representatives from the Department of Science and Technology and the Water Transport Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, the China Maritime Safety Administration, the Waterborne Transport Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, China Classification Society, committee member organizations, and other industry authorities and technical institutions. Participants discussed future priorities for the standardization of inland vessels and waterborne transport.

As an appointed committee member, Yu Yang, Senior Vice President of BOTIX, was invited to deliver a presentation drawing on the company’s industry experience and involvement in international standards development.

Yu presented BOTIX’s practical approach and technical insights from participating in the development of international standards. His presentation offered an industry perspective on how China’s advanced standards for intelligent and electric vessels can contribute more actively to international standardization, bringing Chinese expertise and solutions to international standards organizations. The presentation attracted considerable interest and discussion among committee members.

The system architecture standard proposed by BOTIX supports global carbon-neutrality goals and the transition toward greener shipping while providing a practical technical foundation for the intelligent, standardized, and scalable development of electric inland vessels.

The architecture has been implemented aboard Auto Spring, BOTIX’s independently developed vessel. It enables a transition from conventional distributed control to a new architecture centered on centralized computing and communications, significantly improving vessel energy efficiency, system reliability, and intelligent capabilities.

Participation in international standards development is an important part of BOTIX’s international strategy and reflects the company’s sustained technical commitment to intelligent vessels and green shipping. BOTIX has successfully supported the approval of the New Work Item Proposal for “Design Requirements for Electronic/Electrical Architecture of Inland Electric Vessels.”

In recent years, the company has worked closely with China Classification Society, the CCS Wuhan Rules & Research Institute, and other industry experts and research organizations to explore a new ecosystem for green and intelligent shipping. These partnerships have established a solid foundation for BOTIX’s continued participation in domestic and international standards development.

As policy support continues to strengthen, standards are playing an increasingly important role in improving industry quality and efficiency and supporting the development of a stronger transportation sector.

Looking ahead, BOTIX will remain committed to its principle of “Technology-Driven Development, Standards First.” The company will work closely with SAC/TC 130 and its members to advance standards development and international adoption in intelligent vessels, green energy, and other emerging fields, contributing to higher-quality and more sustainable inland shipping in China.
