BOTIX Showcases Electric and Intelligent Vessel Technologies at the 2025 World Power Battery Conference

The 2025 World Power Battery Conference, themed “New Horizons, New Ecosystems, New Opportunities,” was held in Yibin, Sichuan Province, from November 12 to 13. Hosted by the People’s Government of Sichuan Province, the major international industry event brought together representatives from government authorities, research institutions, international organizations, and leading companies across the value chain to explore strategic opportunities for power batteries in new energy systems and the global green transition.

Wan Gang, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and President of the China Association for Science and Technology; Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee; and Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.

The conference highlighted the increasingly important role of the power battery industry in developing new quality productive forces as the global energy transition accelerates and China prepares to enter its 15th Five-Year Plan period. Green, intelligent, and diversified innovation was identified as a key pathway for upgrading the industry value chain.

BOTIX was invited to exhibit as a representative company in China’s new energy and intelligent vessel sector. The company showcased key technologies for electric and intelligent vessels, including solutions demonstrated in real-world route operations. Representatives from the Sichuan Provincial Department of Transport, the Yibin Municipal Transportation Bureau, and the Yibin Waterway Bureau of the Yangtze River visited the BOTIX booth.

As power batteries see wider adoption across the transportation sector, waterborne transport is emerging as a promising new application. At the conference, BOTIX presented Auto Spring, China’s first purpose-designed electric and intelligent inland vessel for end-to-end autonomous navigation. The project provides a practical example of the safe, reliable, and engineering-ready application of power batteries in waterborne transport.

Auto Spring is equipped with the world’s first 800 V high-voltage direct-current electric propulsion system developed specifically for marine applications. Developed independently by BOTIX, the system replaces a conventional internal-combustion engine with electric propulsion, enabling energy-efficient, low-noise, and zero-emission operation.

The propulsion system has received Type Approval from China Classification Society (CCS), demonstrating its engineering readiness for high-power marine applications involving long operating hours and complex conditions.

Auto Spring also features the independently developed BOTIX Autonomous Navigation System, the first system of its kind in China to receive CCS Approval in Principle and designed to support the Nn notation for end-to-end autonomous navigation and the A1 notation for autonomous vessel operation under the CCS Rules for Intelligent Ships.

Powered by a full-stack algorithm engine and multi-source sensor fusion, the system supports real-time route planning, dynamic obstacle detection, and autonomous docking and undocking, enabling berth-to-berth autonomous navigation.

By integrating electrification with intelligent vessel technologies, Auto Spring presents a new pathway for upgrading marine propulsion systems while offering a scalable and replicable engineering solution for the low-carbon and intelligent transformation of regional waterborne transport.

As the global power battery industry continues to evolve, BOTIX will deepen collaborative innovation with partners across the value chain. The company will promote the integration of advanced battery technologies with waterborne transport and contribute to an open green energy ecosystem supporting a low-carbon, efficient, and safe transportation system.
