FAQ

What navigational challenges does NaviSight address?
NaviSight is an AI-powered maritime situational awareness system that fuses visible-light and thermal imagery with AIS, radar, and other onboard data. It continuously detects surrounding targets and alerts the bridge team to potential risks. In night-time, rain, fog, low-light, and extended watchkeeping conditions, it helps crew members detect targets earlier, understand the navigational situation more clearly, and reduce the workload associated with continuous lookout and assessment. -
What targets can NaviSight identify?
NaviSight can identify and continuously track 12 typical maritime target categories: cargo vessels, passenger vessels, fishing vessels, naval vessels, sailing vessels, workboats, other vessels, buoys, lighthouses, offshore facilities, maritime hazards, and other targets. It can also use visual perception and multi-source data fusion to identify and assess risks associated with small vessels not equipped with AIS, buoys, and other non-cooperative targets. -
Can NaviSight replace marine radar or human lookout?
No. NaviSight is a navigation assistance and situational awareness system designed to enhance the bridge team’s understanding of the surrounding environment. It complements marine radar, AIS, ECDIS, and human lookout. -
Does NaviSight support night-time and low-visibility operations?
Yes. Its visible-light, thermal-imaging, and multimodal perception capabilities enhance target detection and recognition at night, in low-light environments, and under certain reduced-visibility conditions.
