BOTIX Invited to Seminar on Inland Electric Vessel Standardization
The National Technical Committee on Inland Waterway Vessels and Waterway Transport Standardization (SAC/TC 130) recently held a seminar on standardization in the inland electric vessel sector in Xiamen. Yu Yang, Senior Vice President of BOTIX Inc., was invited to attend, joining professionals from vessel design, construction, survey, operation and management to contribute real-world experience and forward-looking recommendations for the standardization of electric intelligent vessels.
The seminar brought together representatives from more than 20 organizations, including China Classification Society, Dongjiang Maritime Safety Administration, Wuhan University of Technology, Tan Kah Kee Innovation Laboratory, CCS Wuhan Rules and Research Institute, Xiamen Port Shipping Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Ocean Shipping Co., Ltd.
Participants held in-depth discussions on standards development, technology research, equipment design, system integration and commercial deployment. By bringing together technical expertise and operational experience from electric and intelligent vessel projects, the seminar aimed to accelerate the development of a comprehensive standards framework and establish a strong foundation for the industry’s green and intelligent transformation.
At the opening session, Ji Yongbo, Secretary-General of SAC/TC 130, introduced the committee’s work and provided an update on the development and revision of standards for electric vessels.
BOTIX exchanged insights with industry participants and reviewed practical experience from previous projects. The discussions further clarified the company’s future priorities: continuing to advance technology and product innovation, actively participating in the development of electric vessel standards, and contributing practical engineering expertise to the industry’s standardization process.
